Why Coliving for a Living?

Coliving is, at its core, a people business. Done well, it has the power to transform lives and create lasting communities.

But too often we see projects fail because they lean too heavily on one side of the spectrum. They are either driven by passion without a sustainable business model, or by profit without truly understanding the human essence of coliving.

We know from experience that it doesn’t have to be a choice.

A business built with heart can also be financially healthy, and values and profitability can - and must - coexist. Over the years, we’ve watched incredible concepts struggle because they couldn’t find this balance. That’s why we are stepping forward: to support founders and operators in creating spaces that are both soulful and sustainable. We believe coliving has a bright future if it grows with care, and we want to help shape an industry where people can thrive, businesses can succeed, and communities can flourish.

Who we are

Hi, I’m Katia

I’m a coliving entrepreneur, consultant, and community builder with a background that weaves through corporate leadership, hospitality, and entrepreneurship. I’m the founder of Chateau Coliving in Normandy, France, a pioneering rural coliving space that has welcomed hundreds of digital nomads, entrepreneurs, and creatives from all over the world.

Over the years, I’ve learned how to combine strategy and structure with something just as important: a deeply human approach. Alongside running my own projects, I’ve contributed to the success of some of the most iconic coliving spaces in Europe, including Nine Coliving in Tenerife and Burgas Coliving in Bulgaria, participated as as speaker at numerous conferences, and had the honor of serving as a judge for the Coliving Awards 2025, helping to shape the future of this growing movement.

These days, I share my experience through consulting for aspiring coliving founders and by designing immersive themed experiences that blend hands-on learning with the magic of intentional community. My passion is helping others build sustainable, human-centered coliving spaces that go beyond accommodation to create a real sense of belonging.

Hi, I’m Jeanne

I’m a slowmad passionate about community, marketing, and events.

My background is in marketing and large-scale event production. Working with agencies to design and deliver corporate events across Europe — experiences where every detail mattered and where I learned how to create environments people truly remember. I also led trips for travel agencies, which gave me hands-on experience with group dynamics, logistics, and turning strangers into connected groups.

I joined the Château Coliving team in 2022 as Community & Business Lead. My missions were to steer the overall community and business operations, from safeguarding culture and guest experience to driving sales, managing marketing and social media, overseeing operations, and leading special projects and team onboarding, ensuring everything ran smoothly and resonated with the right people.

Now, as co-founder of Coliving for a Living, I’m taking this expertise beyond Château. I help operators, entrepreneurs, and brands design communities, programs, and events that are strategically structured, deeply engaging, and marketed to consistently sell out. My mission is to show what really goes into building a community that lasts, how to make it both profitable and meaningful, and why thoughtful design isn’t just an add-on — it’s the heart of coliving and shared experiences.
